York Betting Odds
York’s Ebor Festival Odds
The Ebor Festival in August is the feature meeting, the handicap after which it’s named the richest in Europe. The Juddmonte International, Yorkshire Oaks and Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes provide Group One action while the Gimcrack Stakes and Lowther Stakes are leading two-year-old contests.
In the spring York stages leading trials for the Derby and the Oaks in the Dante and Musidora Stakes. The former has been a leading pointer towards Epsom and was won in 2015 by Golden Horn before he went on to take the Classic, so certainly one to watch if you’re looking to bet.
Know the Race Card to Get the Best Odds
Historically low numbers were best served in races on the round course at York but in recent years horses have raced down the centre of the track rather than hard against the far rail which has meant higher drawn horses haven’t been disadvantaged to the same extent. Be sure to check the race cards and betting prices for York before betting on a horse, our information on runners and riders could make the difference.
Ryan Moore is the leading jockey at York and rides the track particularly well. Paul Hanagan is second in the list having ridden plenty of winners there when stable jockey to Richard Fahey. Kieren Fallon always likes a winner at York and has enjoyed plenty of success there along with Danny Tudhope and Silvestre De Sousa.
Fahey remains the leading trainer at his local track but is being pressured by David O’Meara who has enjoyed plenty of success over the last two seasons.
Kevin Ryan is another local trainer to note, indeed he often introduces his best two-year-olds at the track. William Haggas, a Yorkshireman now based in Newmarket, is another huge York fan and he too has plenty of success along with Tim Easterby. Haggas is showing a very healthy profit with his runners over the last five years.
