Lingfield Betting Odds
Year Round Betting in All Weathers
But much has changed since then. ‘Leafy Lingfield’, so nicknamed because of its situation among a forest of trees deep in the heart of Surrey, is now owned by the ARC Racing and Leisure Group and is the only UK track that has facilities to stage jump racing, Flat turf racing and all-weather racing.
The all-weather Flat action, run on Polytrack since the surface was relaid in 2001 (and then again in 2012), is the bedrock of Lingfield’s fixture list with 60 fixtures of that kind taking place in 2015 providing ample opportunity to check the odds and form.
The All-Weather Championships Finals Day has taken place at the course since its inception in the spring of 2014, and with a £1million total prize fund on offer, Championships Finals Day is the richest All-Weather race card staged in Europe as well as one of the richest racedays in the UK.
Other significant races to take place at Lingfield are the Lingfield Oaks Trial and Lingfield Derby Trial that are held in the weeks leading up to the Investec Derby at Epsom at the end of May.
Several contenders have subsequently won the Oaks, with 2008 Lingfield runner-up Look Here the last horse from the race to go on to win the Classic at Epsom.
Eight winners of the Lingfield Derby Trial have gone on to win the Derby, with Luca Cumani’s High-Rise the most recent in 1998.
Other significant races at Lingfield include the Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes staged at the track in May.
